If you are like us and enjoy exploring local history, whether it be old country churches or castles, there are plenty to choose from. (Robert Louis Stevenson’s Kidnapped is in part set in this area)
Or you may wish to search your own family history, this could be an ideal base.
Other alternatives available – Hill walking, horse riding, cycling, sailing, wildlife / bird watching, sea kayaking, ski-ing, or climbing at the world’s biggest indoor ice climbing facility at The Ice Factor (Kinlochleven). Possibly less strenuous would be visits to any of the gardens open to the public under the Scottish Gardens Scheme or even less effort visiting some of the excellent restaurants in this part of the world, including The Airds Hotel and The Pierhouse Hotel both in Port Appin.
Alternatively you could just relax by the log fire!
